Million hours of outdoor activities in Finland

Leading manufacturer of children's clothing Reima has prepared a fascinating competition for active children with the support of the Finnish National Tourism Office Visit Finland.

At Reima, they know very well that children are notorious fidgets, so they have prepared a series of events for children from all over the world that will allow them to spend an additional million moving hours together. Visit Finland supports this interesting and healthy project for children, emphasizing the attractiveness of Finland as a close, convenient and safe place for active holidays with the whole family.

Reima and Visit Finland invite Russian children to participate in the exciting #ReimaKidventure competition (aka "children's adventure from Reima"), and their parents to enjoy an active holiday in Finland with the whole family.

“We set an ambitious task: to give the participants a total of a million hours of diverse outdoor activities. We want to emphasize the importance of movement in the lives of children and tell the world about an active lifestyle here in Finland.””, says Paivi Koskela, Reima’s International Marketing Director.

Finland - a fashionable tourist destination

Numerous successful tourism promotion activities in Finland have recently attracted more and more attention to it. Long-term plans to attract tourists give good results: more and more people from all over the world go to this small northern country.

The Kidventure Campaign conducted by Reima reflects several of the main topics covered by Visit Finland: the diversity and purity of Finnish nature, active vacations for children and adults, the northern fairy tale of Lapland - the homeland of Santa Claus and the edge of the polar lights.

“Despite the fact that the tourism brand of Finland is widely known, recognizable and strong in Russia, we want to see even more Russian guests with us. Therefore, we are looking for new non-standard ways to tell about the possibilities of Suomi and interact with various partners in this”says Heli Jimenez, marketing director for Visit Finland.

According to Jimenez, the goal of the campaign is to introduce children and parents to the unusual and unknown sides of Finland, a country where there is always something to see and do.

Main idea: an active lifestyle is fun

Obviously, a child needs to be active at any age and spend more time outdoors. Therefore, all Reima clothing is waterproof, breathable, durable and easy to care for. A properly dressed child is always healthy - excess moisture is removed due to breathing materials, and a waterproof membrane does not let water from outside.

The campaign will reach its peak in March 2018, when the international Reima Kidventure event will be held in the famous Finnish ski resort Ruka for a week, where one successful family will be invited from 15 different countries of the world, including Russia.

"We look forward to inviting children from all over the planet to the world of snow, ice and winter fun.", says Mats Lindfors, Director General of the Ruka-Kuusamo Tourism Association. According to him, winter among the virgin nature of the Ruka-Kuusamo region is truly magical.
