Pictures of the journey of this 4-year-old baby from Japan became a sensation!
Alas, not a single adult has been given back to childhood, but still there are things in the world that can, at least in our thoughts and hearts, bring us back to that golden and fabulous time of the first years of our lives. One of these things, of course, was a series of photographs of the Japanese photographer Kotori Kawashima. He was filming his friend’s 4-year-old daughter when she was lucky enough to go from a Japanese village to the delightful, legendary Paris. Kawashima captured how this adorable child learns the world.
In 2011, the photographer released a whole book entitled “Mirai Chan, introducing the world to the pink-cheeked girl. Then the publication received instant overwhelming success in Japan, and its author became the winner of several awards.
