The Royal Mail of Great Britain delivered a letter to the girl who is 112 years old

Royal Mail UK has existed since 1516. The origins of its creation go to the royal messengers who carried mail of national importance. Traditionally, on the stamps of this state there is a portrait of the king, who ruled during a certain period. The crime is to stick the stamp on the contrary, so that the king’s head turns upside down. Until 1952, a person was allowed to be sent by this mail.

Royal Mail holds the status of one of the most reliable postal services. An old mailbox located in the UK has been accepting mail since 1853 and is still valid. Curious fact: in London, one of the post offices daily receives more than 100 letters addressed to Sherlock Holmes. They are transferred to the museum on Baker Street. It is also interesting that the name of the ruler at which they were installed is indicated on the British mailboxes.

More recently, an incredible story happened with a resident of Britain: she received a postcard sent by mail in December 1907. Her addressee was a woman who lived here in the 20th century. In a letter, a certain Albert warns her that she is not feeling well and will not be able to arrive at Christmas. The girl admits that, having received an amazing letter from the past, she was at first confused. However, then she decided that it was worth finding the relatives of the addressee and giving a letter to them.

As for the Royal Postal Service itself, it was very skeptical about the incident. According to its representatives, this simply could not happen and, most likely, someone sent a letter recently.
