Romance Varadero

Sometimes reality turns out to be much more impressive than changing pictures in the imagination. Dreaming of a vacation, we imagine moderately noisy and warm azure sea, clear white sand and clear sky above our heads, but we do not allow ourselves to go a little further in our fantasies.

There, where luxury hotels and villas will hide you from the bustle of the weekdays with huge palm leaves, where the coastline seems completely endless, and wild beaches suddenly give way to tropical thickets with exotic birds.

After admiring the beauties of the underwater world, and then listening to a couple of stories about Cuban life before and after the revolution with a glass of Cuba Libre, you will unbearably want to smoke a fragrant cigar and join street salsa dancers ... Someone, but Cubans know how to be happy. And it’s worth learning from them.

Varadero is Cuba's most popular resort and one of the largest in the Caribbean. It is located on the Ikakos Peninsula, which is connected to the island of Cuba by a long, long suspension bridge. Crossing it, you find yourself in a different Cuban reality, different from the life that remained on the other side.

This is the perfect place to switch. Get away from everything and everything and really rest. To give yourself the opportunity to get used to the extraordinary beauty around (although this, of course, is incredibly difficult), to defocus your eyes and put up with the fact that during your vacation there will be only sea, sun and sand. Isn't everyone dreaming about this ?!

Varadero knows the secret of happiness and the recipe for bliss - there is nothing superfluous, nothing distracting attention from complete or even absolute relaxation. This is a resort where you need to let go of all the problems and worries, and truly forget. It is for this that he was created. Perhaps you are here.

Another Cuba

Many argue that in Varadero you can not get the right idea of Cuba. But, coming only to Moscow or St. Petersburg, one does not learn about Russia. Yes, in Varadero there are few low-colored multi-colored colonial houses that are found throughout Cuba, few shiny old cars and dark-skinned old people resting in rocking chairs with a cigar in their teeth. But Cuba is beautiful in that when you come to one of its cities, you always have the opportunity to travel across the country and see more. Much more. And it does not take much time.

What to do in Varadero

To begin with, we want to warn you that Varadero is so fabulous and beautiful that when you see all these extraordinary beaches, palm trees and the endless ocean, feelings can break out in you. Happiness, awe, excitement, love ... Romance! We strongly recommend flying here with your loved one, because the atmosphere of Varadero is so romantic that you will certainly want love. Probably forever (yes, you can play a wedding here, so if anything, we warned).

The most magical thing in Varadero - a little over twenty kilometers of luxurious beaches with fine, fine white sand, stretching along the ocean - a kind of paradise, almost torn from the island of Cuba. Some time ago, Varadero beach was recognized by UNESCO as one of the cleanest beaches in the world. Choose any one to your taste and remember that in Varadero there are quite wild places where you can only be together on the whole beach. If you want, you can even swim naked!

An interesting place Cape Ikakos - the northernmost point of Cuba. Wildlife, magnificent lagoons and quiet secluded beaches ... What you need!

Many come here for great diving. The island has several large diving centers: Barracuda Scuba Diving Center, Chapelin Diving Center, Gaviota Diving center and Scuba Libre Varadero.

Fans of diving are available about 30 excellent diving sites with a diving depth of 10 to 40 meters. The reef landscape is fascinating, the abundance of colorful tropical fish is impressive. You will find picturesque caves and coral walls, sunken ancient ships and even an airplane (Cayo Piedras del Norte website). All this is very interesting!

Transparent water contributes to better light penetration, giving a chic view at shallow depths. Under the water column you can see perches, eels, stingrays, lobsters, lobsters, crabs, shrimps, barracudas and turtles. If you want exotic, go on a night dive or try speleodiving, there are excellent opportunities for this. The best diving sites of Varadero: Neptuno Wreck, Playa Coral, Wall at Bay of Pigs, Patrol Boat Wreck, Cave Fish and Blue Hole.

Almost untouched underwater world can be seen by fans of snorkeling. For this, absolutely any beach is suitable. You can start, for example, with Playa Coral.

Varadero is ideal for beach vacations and diving, although here, of course, there are many other traditional entertainment for resorts: beach volleyball or football, boat trips on yachts, catamarans, sea and freshwater fishing, golf, tennis, a casino, dance classes or short excursions . There are many great bars, restaurants, clubs and shops. There are even movie theaters, so if you speak Spanish, why not ?!

What to see in Varadero

In the evening, after a day on the beach in the shade of royal and coconut palms, or spent under water, surrounded by curious fish and intricate corals, take a walk along the main street of the peninsula - Avenida Primera or along the edge of the sea, past endless hotels.

If you are not afraid of distances, ride a bike or scooter. For example, the Autopista Sur highway runs through the resort from edge to edge. For the most carefree, an excursion ride on a tourist bus along Varadero will be an excellent option. The most romantic should take note of the opportunity to ride in a horse-drawn cart.

If you want a little fun, go to Parque Retiro Josone Park. There is a small lake surrounded by trees and tropical flowers, on which you can enjoy a ride on a boat or catamaran, listening to the twittering of local birds. Girls will surely enjoy a camel ride, and kids will enjoy vibrant musical rides. Look at what local craftsmen sell here for souvenirs and crafts, and if you get hungry, you can have a bite to eat in one of the park's restaurants. In the evenings, Afro-Cuban dance shows are held in Retiro Hoson, which are then transferred to a night disco. This is a great chance to have an exciting evening!

In the center of the peninsula is a wonderful dolphinarium. If you have never swum and dived with dolphins, we highly recommend it - they are touching and gentle, you will like it! If you’re not ready for a swim yet, keep in mind that great shows featuring trained dolphins take place here four times a day.

There is in Varadero and something more unusual. For example, a visit to the local cave Cueva de Ambrosio (Cueva de Ambrosio) with cave paintings of pre-Colombian times can be one of the most memorable vacation moments. The main thing, moving along the cave, hold the flashlight tighter and do not let go of the hand of your other half!
