The Gallery Hotel Art in Florence presents a stunning art installation

The Gallery Hotel Art in Florence presents a new installation by artist and designer Simone D'Auria, “WOW - Windmill Energy,” which combines the hotel’s façade and the surrounding urban environment.

WOW is the fourth installation on the facade of the Galley Hotel Art. Prior to this, many remember such spectacular objects as 2013's Up on a Bicycle, which is a chain of huge bicycles that symbolize the adventures of mankind, always looking to the future, 2014 Personal / Non-Personal - a mysterious line of creatures with the heads of different animals climbing on the facade of the hotel, which, with the help of symbols, told about the great personalities of Florence, and, finally, the “Spoon” dedicated to the EXPO-2015 in Milan - red and white spoons looked funny on the facade of the hotel, and in the square the large spoon resembled Bruno the motto of the Expo "Feeding the planet, energy for life".

“For the past four years, the Lungarno Collection chain has been involved in Gallery Hotel Art projects in a small area in the immediate vicinity of the Ponte Vecchio bridge,” comments Valeriano Antonioli, Director General of the Lungarno Collection Group. “This project has gradually become important not only for us and for tourists coming to the capital of Tuscany, but also for local residents who each year curiously wait for what else will happen on the square, how it will change, what it will be like in their photos and numerous selfies. After all, Florence can be and such. And we get tremendous satisfaction from this and are proud of our projects. And, of course, many thanks to the municipality of Florence, which honored us with its patronage. "

Red is a color code that unites all projects and is one of the important stylistic elements of Simon D'Auria, used by him in almost all artworks, in particular in installations created by order of the Lungarno Collection. Therefore, as part of a new project, Gallery Hotel Art will present a retrospective of 12 photographs taken in collaboration with Leica.

The project covers the entire area of Vicolo del'Oro. Two huge pots, from which spinning turntables sprout, as well as three-dimensional WOW letters of bright red color cause joyful exclamations from the audience and involve them in communicating with the art object. At the same time, they convey such an important and crucial topic for the future of the planet.

The letters were specially created for interactive communication with the public. Guests of Florence and locals can take selfies in the background of WOW and post photos on social networks with hashtags (#wowFirenze #galleryhotelart, and also mark the @lungarnocollection page on Instagram).

The WOW project is not limited to the area of Vicolo Del'Oro. For example, Gallery Hotel Art’s popular Fusion Bar & Restaurant offers some great dishes and cocktails created as a result of the collaboration between artist Simone D'Auria and the chef Lungarno Collection, who brought Michelin star to Borgo San Jacopo this year, Peter Brunel.

Guests are invited to try such interesting and vibrant dishes as Windmill nigiri with tuna, sea bass and tobiko (flying fish caviar), avocado, asparagus, mango sake, or WOW Box Eat and Drink ( WOW box drink & eat) - one cocktail from the WOW menu with an algae cone filled with red quinoa, rice with vegetable sauce and shrimp. As well as unusual cocktails: WOW (campari, Japanese plum liquor, sake, soda from green tea), Garibaldi in love (campari, bacardi, lime, green pepper syrup, orange soda), Underwood (Sottobosco) - ( vodka, honey and lemon syrup, lemon juice, raspberries, mint leaves, ginger syrup), Not Today - (whipped pineapple with celery, lemon juice, maple syrup, tonic and cumin).

Also, the good news for all guests and residents of Florence will be that from 17.00 to 19.00 for all cocktails from the WOW menu a special price is applied - 10 euros.
