Summer is over, but the most important events in Estonia are just beginning! On fine September days, the island of Saaremaa invites everyone to a gastronomic holiday, the border city of Narva calls for an opera festival, Tallinn organizes an architectural biennale, gathers for crazy student days in Tartu, and tests are held for the most experienced cyclists in Võrumaa county.

Before the summer season closes, Saaremaa Island invites everyone to a great gastronomic holiday. The Saaremaa Food Festival offers an interesting program lasting 11 days, of which only one thing can be said: the stomach is stronger - the heart is lighter. Here everyone will find something interesting for themselves: the festival will include Saaremaa Week of Restaurants, Cake Concert, Big Market Day, private dinners "Pig in a Bag" and "Eel Soup", a street picnic in Kuressaare, children's day and much more.

Singing lessons

For the fourth year in a row, the Narva days of the ContempArt opera will acquaint local residents and tourists with modern classical music and the works of creative youth (musicians, artists, directors, etc.), which will present to the public their interpretation of classical works in collaboration with professionals of their business. ContempArt events are held in the historic Narva Castle, the village of Krenholm and on the recently opened Free Stage, where you can enjoy more chamber performances. The festival program includes world premieres of major works, family concerts, a dance theater, as well as combined shows created by combining various types of art.

Arch Supervision

The Tallinn Architecture Biennale (TAB) is the largest international architectural festival in the region, the theme of which is “Beauty matters: the revival of beauty," with Dr. Yael Reisner as the main curator. The first week of TAB passes September 11-15, expositions will be open to the public until November 3.

The TAB program includes a symposium, a curatorial exhibition of utopian ideas and a concept competition. In addition, visitors will see gigantic installations and be able to appreciate the work of international architectural schools. Within the framework of the TAB, there is also a diverse satellite program, which includes concerts, lectures, video installations and film screenings on an architectural theme throughout Tallinn.

Have you heard the legendary stories of how Tartu is played in a mnemonic quiz with 300 participants? Or about students who jump into the icy waters of the Emajõgi River in funny flying cars? About scary quests or poetic evenings? Of course, these exciting stories about Tartu student days! Tartu Student Days is a student festival held twice a year, which includes approximately 150 different events in spring and autumn. In the program you can find a huge number of sports, entertainment or music events, as well as many peculiar competitions that will experience the spirit of the participant and his fast legs. Take friends with you and relax with your soul!

Race!

Haanja100 is a cycling event whose goal is to popularize the nature of Haanjamaa and Võru County in southern Estonia as an ideal place for cycling, as well as provide participants with the opportunity to test their abilities over the ultra marathon distance. More than five hundred participants gather annually for the Haanja100 MTB, ignoring the difficulty of a 100-kilometer or 100-mile trail, some of which runs through forests and very steep hills.
