Twilight spell: photographs taken on the “blue border” of day and night

Landscape photographer from Germany Kilian Schönberger invites us to look at nature in a new light. In his latest project, Blue Border, he explores the charm of twilight.

Here are shots taken at dusk and at dawn. They convey magical moments of beauty in a stunning blue tint that fills the surrounding views. Harvest flooded with the bright light of the moon, landscapes shrouded in fog - these atmospheric shots in all their glory demonstrate the so-called "blue hour", the twilight period of the day.

Despite the fact that Schoenberger is far from the first photographer who was keen on shooting during the blue hour, Kilian's vision of this fleeting period is very different from the work of his colleagues. The German admits that photographing this length of time means much more to him than just aesthetic pleasure. He is convinced that the blue hour is a magical boundary between the rational world of the day and the mystical world of night.
