Cloning is easier than raising a new one: a police dog has been cloned in China

Each dog handler knows how hard it is to raise and prepare a dog for work, which will be a real professional. And not every dog that has spent years of work and considerable money can adequately serve in law enforcement agencies, successfully search for drugs and weapons, neutralize criminals and find a trace of those abducted. The Chinese law enforcement officers thought about this, who decided that it was easier to clone an already existing brilliant dog than to spend years on bringing up a replacement for it.

A puppy was born a few months ago in China, which is a clone of a brilliant service dog named Huahuanma. This 7-year-old German Shepherd has been serving in the police ranks for several years and distinguished itself in the investigation of a series of crimes. For its outstanding abilities, Huahuanma has repeatedly won awards and even received the nickname Sherlock Holmes. The police thought it would be great to have another dog in the service and decided to clone a shepherd, which scientists helped them with.

As a result of a successful operation, a puppy was born, who was named Kunsun. According to experts, a puppy at the age of 3 months has high expectations and is different from his brothers. He is smart, resourceful and fearless, and dog handlers hope that he will be able to begin to fulfill his duties even before 1 year and will serve for the good of society.

At first glance, it may seem that the problem of worthy dogs in the service is somewhat contrived. But if you know that it takes up to 5 years to train one highly qualified dog and that not every animal can eventually become the same dog that unmistakably finds drugs and other objects, goes on the trail and neutralizes the criminal, it becomes clear why these difficulties.

Kunxun became the first cloned police dog in China, but not in the world. The South Korean police several years ago also cloned a four-legged officer - a Labrador, who distinguished himself in the service. In the meantime, the genetic copy of the ingenious Huahuanma is growing up, the Chinese leadership is looking for ways to reduce the cost of the cloning process, because it is really very convenient.
