The best places to admire plum in Japan

Spring has come in Tokyo. The air in the Japanese capital warmed up to 19 degrees. Here and there pink buds bloom in the trees. This is not sakura, the season of admiring the cherry will begin only after a month and a half. It is a plum, and it is no less beautiful. In this post are the three best, in my opinion, places for plum hans, admiring the flowers.

Kairaku-en Park (Mito, Ibaraki)

Kairaku-en Park is considered by the Japanese as one of the three main parks in the country. The other two are in Kanazawa and Okayama - the road from Tokyo is not a short one. Kairaku-en is located in Ibaraki Prefecture. Why is he on the first line? Firstly, because about 3,000 plum trees grow in the park. This is a lot. Secondly, because the local plum blossom festival has a very long history - this year it will be held for the 123rd time. And finally, in the evening, an illumination is arranged here. Night plum admiring is a fairy tale.

Mount Tsukuba (Tsukuba, Ibaraki)

Do you like outdoor activities? Then I propose to combine the beautiful with the useful and go to conquer Mount Tsukuba. In February - March, plum blossoms on its slopes. About 1000 trees of different varieties, clean air, benches and gazebos, from where a breathtaking view opens. Storming the summit is not necessary at all - all the beauty is concentrated somewhere at an altitude of 250 meters. By the way, at the foot, before, plum wine was poured.

Hanegi Park (Tokyo)

Hanegi Park is located at Umegaoka Station in Tokyo, whose name can be translated into Russian as "plum hill."

Of all the metropolitan parks, there are most plums here, about 650 trees. And at the nearby station is the cat-temple of Gotokuji, where thousands of maneki-neko every day ask the sky to send us good luck and happiness. Spring, flowering plum and seals are a great combination.
